Gusto TV - One World Kitchen

As a food blogger and avid home cook, I’m always looking for new recipes to try out and tastes and flavours to discover. Today marks the launch of a brand new program that’s trying to redefine the way we learn and discover new recipes and techniques from cooking shows. One World Kitchen is the new original program from Gusto Tv. Featuring five women from five different culinary backgrounds (two of which are from Montreal!) they aim to proved that in our proud multicultural country of Canada, curries, empanadas, gnocchi, nigiri and samosas are as apart of Canadian cuisine as poutine, maple syrup and beaver tails.

One World Kitchen shines a spotlight on five global cuisines – Indian, Thai, Italian, South American and Japanese – that are arguably just as ‘Canadian’ as tourtière and poutine. While the series celebrates each of these distinct heritages, it’s clear that food and cooking share the same family and community values the world over. A vibrant mix of tradition and ingredients creates One World Kitchen.

Natalia Machado
Natalia Machado – You might remember her from the interview I did with her for Montreal en Lumiere or from her numerous appearances on the Food Network killing it in the Chopped Kitchen or on “Sweet Genius” (that dessert competition show with the creepy bald host that eats souls for breakfast) being the executive chef of Montreal’s Atelier d’Argentine, Chef Machado is the ambassador of Argentinian cuisine on the show.

From her anecdotes of how her father ate empanadas to tips and trips on making the perfect grilled lamb chops with chimichurri, her recipes are invaluable additions to your cooking arsenal.

Vanessa Gianfrancesco
Vanessa Gianfrancesco is a local chef and cooking school instructor, Vanessa brings her Italian roots to the show. A passion for food led her to leave law school and pursue a culinary career.

BTS-Vanessa
She’s a graduate of Montreal’s Culinary Institute, teaches a pasta-making class – and recently launched a website Cooking with V, dedicated to her mother and grandmothers, who taught her all there is to know about food.

OneWorldKitchen
To celebrate the launch of the new show, I’m giving away five swag bags of One World Kitchen and Gusto Tv goodies (branded hoodie, shirts, measuring spoons, mug, glass bottle with infuser!) Five winners will be chosen at random. All you have to do is answer this question in the comment section below and fill out the contest app:
